ND Forum Will Examine K-12 Education

The University of Notre Dame will make K-12 education a focus of its campus-wide attention throughout the next academic year. The spotlight will start shining next month when leaders in the field of education participate in a panel discussion here.
ACE and the Institute for Educational Initiatives (IEI) are involved right from the start in the 2011-12 Notre Dame Forum and its exploration of crucial issues in education. The 2011-12 Forum Committee is chaired by Rev. Timothy Scully, C.S.C., director of the IEI, and by law professor Nicole Stelle Garnett.

The panel event set for Wednesday, April 13, in the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center will be titled “The System: Opportunity, Crisis, and Obligation in K-12 Education.” Panelists will discuss education innovation and reform, including the role to be played by higher education and by Notre Dame in particular.

The 2011-12 ND Forum will feature a series of panel presentations, symposia, and workshops spanning the academic year. The ND news release offers more details.
